UP High Court Additional Private Secretary Exam Pattern

  • The exam will be conducted in two stages.
  • Stage 1:- This stage will be based on written examination both objective and subjective.
  • Stage-2:- This stage will be based on shorthand and computer knowledge test.
  • There shall be no Interview
  • The standard of the question paper shall be of graduation level
  • There shall be no negative marking for wrong answers.
  • The question paper will be available in both English and Hindi languages.
  • The Selection Committee has discretion to fix minimum qualifying marks in written

Part A:-General English & General Studies:- Preposition, Conjunctions, Pronoun, Adjectives, Verb, Adverb, Direct Narration/ Indirect Narration, Active /Passive Voice, Synonyms/Antonyms, Proverb, Idioms, and phrases, Spellings, One word substitution. etc. General Studies:– Current events of national and international importance, History of India and Uttar Pradesh, Indian and World geography – Physical, Social, Economic geography of India, Indian Polity and governance – Constitution , Political System, Public Policy, Rights issues etc., Economic and Social Development – Sustainable Development Poverty Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc., General Issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change- that do not require subject specialization, General Science, etc.

Part A:- Elementary Knowledge of Computer:- Computer Fundamentals, Windows (MS-Windows), MS-Office : Word Processing (MS-Word), Spread Sheet (MS-Excel), Presentation Knowledge (MS-Power Point), Basic Computer Knowledge, Computer Devices, MS Access and Usage of Internet Services, Browsers, Apps, Software, Hardware, Communication Technology, Networking Concepts.

PART-B Subjective Type Test (On Answer Booklet):- Translation of Passage in Shorthand to English (From Sir Issac Pitman’s Book).

Stage-2 Part B:- Computer Knowledge Test:- This test will based on basic computer methods and operations used in daily day to day life. Applicants have to perform basic computer operations on MS-word, Word-Pad, MS-Excel, Powerpoint, Saving Files, Shortcuts etc.
