About The Exam:- The IOCL has invited application forms for the recruitment on 45 posts of Junior Engineering Assistant. The last date to apply online will be 31 October 2017. IOCL Junior Engineering Assistant Exam Pattern 2017

  • The written examination will be of objective type.
  • There will be two papers namely Paper-I and Paper-II.
  • Both papers will be of 100 marks.
  • There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks against each wrong answer.
  • The total duration of the written test for both papers will be 2 hours.

IOCL Junior Engineering Assistant (JEA) Syllabus Subject Wise

Aptitude & Reasoning:-  Current affairs of national and international events, Indian policy and economy, general mental ability, test of reasoning, quantitative technique.

Mathematics:- Linear Equations, Understanding Logarithms, Triangles, Polynomials,Tangents, Mensuration, Statistics, Probability, Quadratic Equation, Trigonometry, Sets and Progressions, Coordinate Geometry, Exploring Real Numbers.

General English:- Preposition, Conjunctions, Pronoun, Adjectives, Verb, Adverb, Direct Narration/ Indirect Narration, Active /Passive Voice, Synonyms/Antonyms, Proverb, Idioms, and phrases, Spellings, One word substitution. etc

Respective Field(Core):- Subjects and questions related to the respective field of the applicants and post on which candidates have applied. Questions will be asked on diploma/degree level.

(a) Chemical Engineering:- Process Calculations and Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics and Mechanical Operations, Heat Transfer, Mass Transfer, Chemical Reaction Engineering, Instrumentation and Process Control, Plant Design and Economics, Chemical Technology, and all others topics covered in the diploma level of chemical engineering.

(b) Electrical Engineering:- Electronics Devices, Analog and Digital Electronics, Electromagnetic Theory, Control Systems, Network Analysis, Power Systems, Power System Protection, Electrical Instrumentation, Power Electronics & Drives, Electrical Machines, Utilization of Electrical Energy, Power System Analysis & Control, Switch Gear and Protection, and all others topics covered in the diploma level of electrical engineering.

(c) Mechanical Engineering:- Theory of Machines, Automobile Engineering, Structural Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Industrial Engineering & Management etc, Hydraulics, Manufacturing Technology, Heat Engines, The Strength of Materials all others topics covered in the diploma level of Mechanical engineering.

(d) Instrumentation:- Basics of Circuits and Measurement Systems, Transducers Signals, Analog Electronics, Digital Electronics, Optical Instrumentation, Electrical and Electronics Measurements, Biomedical Instrumentation, Control Systems and Process Control, Systems and Communications, Analytical Instrumentation, Industrial Instrumentation, Mechanical Measurement.
