Milwaukee RiverWalk
As one of Milwaukee’s most popular areas, the RiverWalk welcomes you with 3.1 miles of the city's best restaurants, brewpubs, shops and nightlife. Come for a stroll (it is also handicap accessible with several lifts), but stay for an unbeatable meal or a fun and fruity drink.
The RiverWalk sits ??along both sides of the Milwaukee River, from the site of the former North Avenue Dam, through Downtown and the Historic Third Ward, all the way to Lake Michigan. The system is a public-private partnership between riverfront property owners and the City of Milwaukee.

Things to Do
The Milwaukee RiverWalk is not just a pathway alongside the river – it’s one of our favorite places to hang out! Start your adventure at the iconic Bronze Fonz statue, a beloved Milwaukee landmark celebrating the classic American TV show Happy Days. As you walk along the river, you'll find pops of color at the many public art installations and picturesque bridges that are primed and ready for a photo op.
Prefer to explore the RiverWalk from the water? Riverwalk Boat Tours and Milwaukee Kayak Company can provide a unique perspective of the city and an unforgettable experience for all. These tours are perfect for seeing the sights while learning about Milwaukee's history and architecture.
Annual Events
The RiverWalk hosts several annual events that draw visitors from near and far, and you’re on the guestlist! These events celebrate Milwaukee’s heritage and include the Milwaukee River Challenge, and live music performances, making any visit potentially coincide with something exciting.
